Frequently asked questions

Everything employees need to know about using Mavcom's Payroll & HR portal — signing in, payslips, leave, job letters and keeping your record up to date.

Signing up & signing in

How do I get access to the portal?

The administrator invites you by email. Look for the invite message, click the link and choose a password. If you can't find it, check your spam folder, then email paul@mavcomsvg.com.

I set my password but the portal says my account is pending.

New accounts are checked by the administrator before they open. This usually happens quickly on a workday — you'll be able to sign in as soon as it's approved.

I forgot my password.

Use the “Forgot password” link on the sign-in page and follow the email we send you. If the email doesn't arrive, check your spam folder.

Can I sign in on my phone?

Yes. The portal works in any web browser, on a computer, tablet or phone. No app installation is needed.

Payslips & pay

When will my payslip appear?

Payslips are published once the administrator completes the monthly pay run. You'll get an email letting you know when a new one is ready.

How do I print or save a payslip?

Open My payslips, choose the month, and use the print button. From there you can print it or save it as a PDF.

What do NIS and PAYE on my payslip mean?

NIS is your National Insurance Services contribution and PAYE is income tax withheld from your pay. Both are calculated automatically from SVG rates and shown on every payslip.

Something on my payslip looks wrong.

Don't try to change it yourself — records of pay are managed by the administrator. Email paul@mavcomsvg.com with the month and what looks off, and it will be reviewed and corrected.

Leave

How much leave do I have?

Vacation leave builds up monthly — 14 working days a year after your first two years, 18 from your third year, and 21 from your sixth year onward. Your current balance is shown in My leave.

How do I request leave?

Go to My leave, choose your dates and send the request. You'll see the administrator's decision — approval, other suggested dates, or a decline with a reason — in the same place.

What about sick days?

You have 14 paid sick days a year. If you're sick for four or more days in a row, a medical certificate may be needed and the absence may be claimed through NIS.

Do weekends count against my leave?

No. Weekends and public holidays are never counted as leave days.

Job letters

How do I get a job letter for the bank or a visa?

Go to My job letters, choose the type of letter and where it should be sent, and submit. The administrator prepares and signs it, and you'll be able to download or print it once it's ready.

How long does it take?

Most letters are turned around within a day or two. If you need one urgently, email paul@mavcomsvg.com.

My record & documents

Why am I asked to complete my record?

The company keeps a complete file for every employee — contact details, emergency contact, NIS, bank details and tax information. Confirming your details keeps your pay and records accurate.

I don't have an NIS number, bank account or TIN yet.

That's normal for new employees. On My record, mark those items as pending — nothing is held against you while you wait. When you receive the number or open the account, come back and fill it in.

Can I upload my certificates and ID?

Yes. In the Documents section of My record you can upload your resume, certificates, identification and other papers. You can view and download them any time; only the administrator can remove a document once it's uploaded.

What happens if I change my address or phone number?

Update it on My record and save. Changes are logged, so the company always has a clear history of your record.
